The founders
The challenge
The tourism sector, responsible for more than 8% of CO₂ emissions in France, is facing rapid post-Covid growth, with no low-carbon alternatives that are truly accessible. Travel accounts for nearly three quarters of these emissions. Despite strong demand from travelers for more sustainable offers (76% of French people), no platform has so far offered a booking solution that integrates environmental criteria. The market remains dominated by platforms like Airbnb or Booking, whose high commissions reduce the remuneration of hosts and increase the price for travelers.
The activity
GreenGo is a reservation platform dedicated to eco-responsible accommodations, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional tourism players. It references more than 17,000 accommodations carefully selected for their quality, authenticity and low environmental impact. The user experience is optimized by a single search and booking interface taking into account price, experience, transport, CO2 emissions, thus allowing informed choices to be made at each stage of the trip. The company is also developing sustainable mobility features to become the European leader in low-carbon travel.
The impact
The tourism sector is responsible for around 11% of global CO₂ emissions. By integrating sustainability criteria from the research and reservation phase, GreenGo allows a significant reduction in environmental impact: up to -86% on emissions related to transport per person and -43% on those related to accommodation (emissions energy kgCO2/kWh).
